Recommendations to convert my low beams to HID?
I am new to this forum and did some searches on HID but did not get any conclusive answers to the question I have in mind:
What are the recommendations for converting our headlights (97 SE) to real HID lights? Is it even recommended? I read somewhere that the headlight beam pattern is not really for an HID kit, but is strictly for Halogen lamps. Is that correct?
Is there a workaround to this problem, other than completely gutting the current headliights and putting in projectors or something like that?

There are kits with adaptable 9004 style HID bulbs that will work on our cars. I have seen them personally, but you have to remember that you will loose your Hi beams when you do this unless you step up to a CatZ dual beam kit, but be prepared to spend the cash for em.

Know where I can get the adaptable 9004 style HID kits? I have searched on ebay and can only see HID lookalike bulbs and not complete HID kits (ballasts and relays)

Just make sure you get a quality kit. Some of the Ebay items might not be the best quality.

The phillips and CatZ kits are the best that I've heard. There are other members that will be able to advise others, but I don't know them. Most kits out there use Phillips bulbs I believe. As far as getting a kit, I don't know of any shops in your area, but most import performance shops will have them.

I also just upgraded the fogs on my GS to 6000K HID's and the 4300K low beams to 6000K HID's and the car looks absolutely phenomenal and the lighting at night is just unbelievable. Here are some pics of my car before the low beams were upgraded to 6000K HIDs

Well here are a few other thins you need to know.
The HID are very worth every penny but no matter how hard you try you will never get the pattern to look like you Lexus. So you won't be able to use the full power of HID on the road.
Also finding quality kits now days is hard since selling HIDs is now illegal. Catz doesn't supply retailer with conversion Kits any more only OEM replacements. A good kit you can buy is the Hanabi, Hella, Phillips, Sylvania, and Catz. Good luck finding them at a decent price
