knock sensor question
hey guys sorry for this question i'm a new b and i hear everyoen talkin about a knock sensor adn how everyones is dead. can someone tell me what exactly the knock sensor is and how do u know if it needs to be replaced.

wow your cool, thanks for all the help....and actually oviously it didn't otherwise i would have figured it out seeing that i'm not a complete idiot. any1 else actually want to help me?

there were multiple HUGE threads about it. Im not sure what the exact explanation is, but basically the sensor detects a knock in your engine (mostly from using idiotic cheap 87-89 gas). If the sensor goes bad, you CEL light does not come on immediately, but will retard acceleration and mpg.
...and i knew all that from reading the multiple threads located in the forum. Do a search under knock sensor and im pretty sure you'll get detailed info on it
