hey guys sorry for this question i'm a new b and i hear everyoen talkin about a knock sensor adn how everyones is dead. can someone tell me what exactly the knock sensor is and how do u know if it needs to be replaced.

 

And in every one of the threads you read it says exactly how to test it and where it is...

there were multiple HUGE threads about it. Im not sure what the exact explanation is, but basically the sensor detects a knock in your engine (mostly from using idiotic cheap 87-89 gas). If the sensor goes bad, you CEL light does not come on immediately, but will retard acceleration and mpg.

...and i knew all that from reading the multiple threads located in the forum. Do a search under knock sensor and im pretty sure you'll get detailed info on it

 

Apparently you are a complete idiot. I've replied to maybe 10 threads this past week asking the same damn thing. I just copied and pasted the same answer from the first thread and everyone seems to understand, besides you of course Corky...
