Crappy Clear coat. PROBLEMS. HELP!!!!$$$
So i decided to buff my car this weekend. But, when i got to my left front fender i noticed there is a huge spot (4x4in) where the clear is just comming of in sheets. I have noticed the clear comming off my lower bumper too but i just thought that was from rocks hitting it and ****. Well, i realized that these are the two body piece that were replaced when my dad had an accident before i bought the car from him. So i think the body shop used crappy clear. So what do i do now? Repaint the whole front clip? Is there any other option. Any idea how much that would cost? Damn!!!!!!!!

They are supposed yo use HARD CLEAR COAT on our cars, that's what it says in the engine bay. If it was peeling off then thy probably didn't use that, or they didn't put on enough coats. Front bumper is around $100 to paint, stripping the old paint and primer might cost more. The fender should be about the same...

Next Time.....
Sorry to hear about that happening to you. I know that when i had my old Nissan Sentra painted, they did that same crap to me, and then it looked just like the old (original) paint job after a year of driving it.
When i took it in to get it done, i made sure to have all the specifics:
1) Paint Color and Code
2) Type
3) Type of Clear Coat
4) Factory Recommended Layers
The last paint job lasted for a good 2 years. Im sure it still looks good today, but im not sure since i sold it and bought my Max
I know this is an old and often used addage, but i always use it, especially when it is my money or insurance check:
Better safe, than sorry.
