The reason I ask is this: When I start the car I hear a crunch sound that lasts for about a second only and sounds almost exactly like the GM ABS test routine that my old Chevy truck had. If not, any indications as to what this could be? I may just be acting paranoid, as the car drives beautifully...

The easiest sign should be an orange ABS light before starting.

 

someone told me i had abs.. im not sure tho.. i have never seen the abs light come on.... so i dunno

 

to tell is to look in fusebox in engine compartment, one of the fuses is labeled abs....if there is no fuse there, you probably don't have abs.
