Should I buy this max??
1997 SE with 125k miles on it. The price is $5995 on autotrader.com. I haven't seen the actual car, but I will be going there to take a test drive and check the car this weekend. I also have vin number but haven't checked yet. The seller said it's a clean car, paint is perfect, no accident, and he says it's mostly hwy mileage. I know max can run strong over 200k with good care but, my 97 GXE max hasn't even gone half of 125k yet. So guys over 125k miles, how are you guys doing??

I have a 98 SE and was looking at a GXE also when buying this car. The GXE just looked so much blah. Both were black and had the same mileage, the GXE has the chrome trim and came with hub caps. This SE had softer seats, fogs, sunroof, the 16 inch stock rims, spoiler, black trim, home link but was around 1000 more. I haggled down the price of course but the SE just looked so much better. You can of course pay later on to get stuff fixed up n all but it's almost the same.

The car at $5995 seems a tad expensive for the miles. Once a car hits 100K miles you eliminate many buyers and most reputable car lots won't keep it as a trade in. Get it for around $5K - chances are he'll sell for that b/c he has no other buyers. The car if taken care of will last much longer.
