a great buy..

nope, my JWT which i bought about a month ago, is great. no problems at all. but take into consideration that the air temerature sensor must be mounted yourself (by a twist tie as some people do it, or some means of attaching it near the filter). just to take precautions i reset the ECU by disconnecting the (-) cable on the battery.

I've had mine for a few months or so. I like the JWT. I have the hole drilled into the chrome top for my O2 sensor and it works just fine. NIce and quiet unless you floor the car over 3000 rpm and then it has a deep growl (like a GM 4.3 V6 or something similar). The only diff between this and Stillen is Stillen uses a K&N brand filter and has the opening for the O2 sensor. The JWT uses an offbrand filter (just as good) and does not have the O2 hole precut - so you;ll have to cut your own or tie your O2 sensor off near the intake. Hop this helps.

Works Great

I've had mine for about 1 year now. I just cleaned it the other day. Works great. Just mount the temp sensor close to the filter.

JWT

I've had my JWT Intake since mid december, I absolutely love it. I just recently installed a Cattman S/S y-pipe and together they are amazing. If you have a 97-99 Max, there is nothing to worry about O2 sensor wise....there isn't one. And the JWT DOES use a K&N filter, NOT an off brand. it's just as good as the rip off Stillen and works EXACTLY the same.

I believe that Stillen ripped off JWT. Also, its not a O2 sensor. Its an ambient air temp sensor.

In the tune of everyone else... I have a JWT and it's great.

And you don't have to drill a hole or anything. Just take the sucker apart and slide the sensor inside the filter and then reattach everything.

I have the JWT intake too. It is excellent. No problems at all and installation is a snap. Since you have a 97, you don't have to worry about the air intake temp sensor, which is a concern with 95/96 models.

i have a 97 max gxe. i heard that u have to relocate the air temp sensor from the lower plastic intake tubing closer to the air filter. i haven't done this yet and was wondering if it will improve performance/mileage at all. thanks for replies.

If I have a 97 Do I still need to disconnect my battery (reset the CPU) ? because I wont have to worry about moving the sensor around.

you still need to disconnect the battery to reset the cpu even in the 97.
