ECU location???

i have a 97 and just got a 96 ECU that i am sending to technsquare. i wanted tomake sure that the 96 worked fine in my car before i sent it off. where is my ecu located? i have heard in the passenger side above the feet and on the drive side as well. so i was wondering which it is and how do i take it out and put the new one back in.
thanks

enjoy !

10mm socket on passengers side will undue the ecu from harness then just hook the new one up and let it lay on the floorboard.
