Transmission Problem

i got into my car today, and started my car, and noticed that my clutch had a lot of play in it. i then tried to put the car into gear, and it feels as if the clutch will not fully engage... my friend thinks it might just be a bad clutch line, but i have had one in a previous car, and it didnt feel the same... has anyone else experienced this before?

Likely a bad clutch hyd master cyl or slave cyl. Check for leaks at both and loss of fluid in master reservoir.
