Not sure if this will help you or not, but here's something I found:

Front Left/Right O2 sensor = Left/Right in this case refers to the left/right bank of the engine. The "Left" sensor is the one furthest to the front of the vehicle.

I think it is the one on the backside of the engine on the y pipe, but don't hold me to that.

I am going through similar problems, but mine is bank 2 rear sensor. I believe you have a Cali. Spec emission car. The sensor in question is located in your cat. converter, and has the white wire that plugs into the third plug location on the top front of engine (going left to right). I have a copy of a 2000-2002 TSB which the '99 Cali Spec cars share the same system. Hope this helps and makes sense.

You know what you could be right Bank 2 instead of Bank 1 . i think i copyied the wrong number off from what i wrote down . Yeah my car is cali spec . Okay so from what i understand the y pipe has 2 sensors and the cat has 1 . Correct ?

If I'm not mistaken the 95-98 has 3 and the 99 has 4 (Calispec).
