Clean IAC dosent do the trick...

This weekend I cleaned my IAC, after cleaning my throttle body a couple of months ago. I still had a low idle, of about 500 RPM, so I thought that if I clenaed my IAC that might do the trick. But unfortunately, it has done nothing for me. My 95 eeauty still chooses to idle at a rough 500 RPM. If ANYone has any suggestions, it would be much appreciated.

Have you tried adjusting it?

Get a hold of a Haynes or Chiltons and read about manually adjusting the idle speed.

Off the top of my head though:
1. Get the car up to operating temp
2. Pull the plug on the TPS (I believe it's the brown one.) Wait for the idle to smooth out; it'll jump around for a little bit.
3. Look for the black ****/screw looking thing on the IACV. Screwing it in will decrease the idle, screwing it out will increase your idle.
4. Once you get it where you want it, plug the TPS back in and take it for a spin and bring it back and check idle speed again to verify it's where you want it.

I have mine at about 750 but that's only cause I have the PR Poly motor mounts and it helps with vibration. I'm not sure what the factory specs are for idle speed. I had to re-adjust mine after I cleaned my IACV.

I dont recomend cleaning the IACV I would just replace it. Also make sure all the hoses are nice and straight and not twisted or bent. This will ensure that the air is flowing freely.

Just curious, why would you reccomend replacing the IAC instead of cleaning it?

Should I do this if there's a slight vibration when I put it in Drive? (when its in park there's no vibration)

That's the problem I've been trying to solve, but so far no luck.

Just turn on you A/C . Works for me, I will try to clean my IACV to make the car go up to 650-700RPM without the A/C on. My idle usually runs around 500 to 550, but after the car has been driven for a while it goes up to 650 or so. Don't know why this happens.
