homelink visor?

hey is it possible to install a homelink visor on a car if i dont already have the lighted visor?

anyone? anyone?

yes it gets power from the wiring harness thats connected to the light in the mirror, u can hook it up just like ur stock one was hooked up, should work no problem my bro did it

u take ur standard garage door opener remote and press it while pressing the button on ur homelink until it blinks then its programmed

u can program any of the buttons, but they will each activate a different garage if u want, or u can have all three activate the same one, why you would do that, i have no clue but yeah.....

no see thats the thing. i dont have a lighted visor. i was wondering if it was like prewired or something.

Just one thing to add to Nismo14 reply. Depending on the opener you have you may have to do an additional step. Program the visor as the owners manual and Nismo said. If it's not working after that, you have an opener with a rolling code that is required to learn new remotes. If this is the case, you should have a button on the garage door opener, probably near the sensitivity settings, that you have to push to put into learn mode, then hit the button on the homelink visor that you programmed. This is what I had to do to get mine to work

that makes sense, my garage door opener is like 14 yrs old, needless to say it doesnt use rolling codes

seems to me u'd have to run a positive n negative wire, and get a harness to attach to the visor to power it up

A simple Hot and a ground. Cut the damn pug off, and hard wire it. That's all it takes.
