high pitched whine? please help...
The car is a 1995 Nissan Maxima SE 5 speed. Has 152k miles on it.
About five seconds after I start up the car, there is a high pitched whine coming from the engine bay area. I'm guessing it's on the passenger side, leading me to believe that it has something to do with the accessory belt. I know that the belt was a little loose, since it would make that short squeal when you started up the car before. Now, I dont notice the squeal as much, but I can definitely hear the whine.
What do you guys think? Is it the accessory belt? It was replaced, along with the pulley tensioner... genuine Nissan parts (thanks JR Nissan) about three months ago. I just didn't get a chance to get it adjusted.
So if it is the accessory belt and just needs to be tightened, what is the procedure? Can I simply jack up the car, remove the passenger side tire, remove the plastic cover inside the wheel well, loosen the pulley nut, and then tighten the bolt up top by half a turn or so? Any things I should look out for while doing this?
Thanks for any help.

So it's not the belt? I know that the alternator is driven by the belt.. any chance tightening the belt could solve this problem?
Ahh.. this sucks if it is the alternator.
Any further advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
