I am tired of waiting for good quality red/clears for my '95. And I think the Euros do look rather cheap, but overall I like the look better than stocks. Hard to get past the cheap quality of the Euros however.

How many of you would elect to change back to stocks?

You should have posted this in the 4th gen forum for discussion.

Why do they insist on calling these thing "euro" tails? I can't think of any European cars that come with these things other than the true Altezza.

Keep the euros' for now. i also have a pebble beige with those and i find that most people down here like them a lot. i wil get the red/clears from custommaxima.com when they come out though. Anything is better than the stock Orange.

To give out my opinion, I really like the altezza tail lights. I prefer the carbon fiber, because they dont look cheap, but the chrome are nice too. I would stick with the altezzas, just because they are nicer than the plain old red / clear tails.

PS. Dave B, those style of tail lights originated in europe, that's why they are called "euro" tails. Most of the people I know that have them call them Euro tails.

Those aren't true Altzza style lights though. If they were, they'd have a different circle for each bulb like the current Maximas.

The Altezza isn't even a European car, Toyota makes it.

I agee the carbon fiber ones would look a lot better then chrome. However the stock lights are terrible. I just sold my Lexus IS300 (toyota altezza) for my '95 Maxima and I am putting the crome euro lights on next week.

I personally think those look horrible. I hate the look of most "Altezza" lights. They look gaudy. They only look somewhat ok on white cars. Now, the ones (stock) you see on the IS300 and 2K3 Max/Altima are beautiful. I find more and more manufacturers are using altezzas as stock equiptment. And why did Nissan switch back to red lights on the new max???

Eric

PS. I prefer carbon fiber/gunmetal altezzas over chrome..

I agree. I think that altezzas only look good and white maximas. However I think that they give the back of the car a different look. Altezzas look bad on a lot of cars but I think the maxima has a good shape and design for the altezzas, but they do only look good on the white like stated before. Black cars can go with the gun metal but that's it.

CustomMaxima.com 95/96 red/clears
Has anyone heard when the red/clears for the 95-96 will be officially released from CustomMaxima.com? Last I heard it was "Late January". Seems every month it is pushed up another month. Can't find any recollection of it anymore on the website since the last website update.

And...has there ever been any photos of what these will look like?

it would be sweet if they were diamond clear on top, instead of just white/clear / red.

What exactly is wrong with stock tail lights anyway? I wouldn't let myself be caught dead driving a car with aftermarket tails. I don't want my car to become part of the neon/eclipse/sunfire/probe crowd. IMHO, the stock tail lights look WAY better than any clear ones. I just looked at the prices, and I found them for ~$150?! For a piece of solid plastic? I wish I had that much money to waste.

honestly, they actually look ok against your color max. But if i were you i would rather have the stockers on and just keep an eye out for a set of DavidL's in the forsale forum.

These are the only Altezzas I'll look at, and I HATE aftermarket Altezzas... No one's made them look like the Altima or the IS/RX300. Most just look cheap to me.

i'd say go back to stock...altezza's look ok on some cars but the 4th gen max is not one of them, i think all of the altezza's made for 4th gens look horible, plus your car looses a lot of respect from people when you add the altezza's on...just my .02...im waitin for the red/clears but at this rate i doubt we'll ever see them...

I hate altezzas ...any kind, whether its chrome , cf, etc. IMO they look horrible on 4th gens (or any car for that matter). Id actually stick with the stock orange/red tails...no joke.

many org members swear by the red/clear tails. pesonally i live both the redline max.com(97maxgurl) red/clears and the generation 2 altezzas. both show alot of potential. basically its up to the owner to decide. look on my homepage i should have both setups on the pages.

Use your stocks and paint the orange part red to match the other red part.

Keep'em and hope they make the red clears for the 95/96 or get a 97-99 trunk and then you can get either the Gen IIs or the red clears.
