Replaced engine revs when put in gear
Replaced engine revs when put in gear
About a month ago my 95' max hit 205k and was near stage 3 with the timing chain tensioner problem. It was still running great, but it was figured it was cheaper to put in a much lower mileage (40k miles) used engine rather than fix it.
The engine I replaced it with was from an auto, and my car is a 5spd. Also, the "new" engine was from a 97 which meant that I had to change around some of the vacuum lines/sensors to fit what my non-Cali 95' harness and hookups were looking for. After replacing a faulty camshaft position sensor, it's running great. Plenty of power (Great to have a young engine again!), and runs real quiet at idle.
The one "problem" I do have now is whenever I put the clutch to the floor, and shift it into gear the engine revs to about 1600-1800 rpm.
I'm thinking it's has to be a sensor thats different on the engine. It sounds like it could be automagic tranny behavior. Anyone have any ideas?
