HID type booster kits?

I saw this on ebay... has anyone tried them? To me, using them seems alot like overclocking a cpu... shortens the lifespan of the bulb... let me know what you all think about it

wouldnt do it, it seems like all it does it make the bulb use more watts, very easy to burn out

Its not real HID first of all, and second.. blue coated bulbs suck. Get the real thing or don't bother.

just save you money and buy the real HID kit. The ones you posted will produce way too much heat and will burn something.

Well, since my car probably won't last more than 2 years max... I don't want to get HID, I know you can just take it out and put it in another car but I'm not sure what my next car would be. Damn people... very simple question... no need to get all irrirated... hahaha u don't like the poll, don't take it...

Hey Nismo, I might get the one you got. How was the installation? Was it fairly easy?

Seems the kit is like the Catz Zeta system I currently have in my car. The unit increase the voltage being feed to the bulbs, I've had it in my car for almost 2 years with Piaa Super Whites and it works great, very bright and a big upgrade from factory. However I upgraded my harness, I can send you info if your interested, just email me, but expect a lag as I'll be gone till Tuesday. I'm also going to be removing the system cause I was able to locate a Catz 9004 Dual high/low HID system and will be installing that so my Zeta system with custom harness will be up for sale soon, let me know if anyone is interested.

Cool, let me know where you got your harness or was it customized?

I made the harness myself. It was acutually quite easy.
I bought 2 new soccets that plug into the bulbs, pulled them apart and removed the pins that connects to the bulb. Next my Zeta had spade style terminals on it like a large OEM fuse for easy of install so I got four (high beam/low beam left and right) 10 awg fuse holders. I connected the OEM light feed to one of the fues holder and the other I wired directly to that pin removed from the harness, this would allow the higher output to travel directly to the bulb with less resistance, ie smaller gauge wire, which could cause the harness to melt. Next I ran a larger gound wire, 10awg from the pin directly to the chassy and scaped away some paint to ensure a strong ground. I can send pics later next week if you'd like of the harness, just let me know.
