Help Lost Power While Driving Continued Problems

Hey

As Some of you guys may know i have been posting threads on the .org about why my car was running crappy and about spark plug trouble. well on a recent post when i changed my car from platnium plugs to new copper plugs my car ran like crap and sounded like it was mis-firing then finally i got the 06-06 (i think thats the code) for cyl. 3 mis fire. so i checked the coil pack and everything was fine... but no luck still ran crappy ...so i put my platniums back in the engine and everything was running smooth again... so i talked to my g/fs dad and said i may had bad plugs.. and he said did i gap them and i said yes to 43.. but anyways today as i was driving down the road my car completely shut off while i was driving ..so i barley had enough room to get between a car to pull over .. so i do i pop my hood and everything looks ok. my car will not turnover at all .. the only thing that works on my car is the security light and my interior lights and my alarm. Does anyone know what might be wrong with my car? could it be the alternator or a relay? or the plugs?

sorry it was so long..

thanks in advance

-anthony

If your headlights work and they are bright, then it's probably your starter or starter relay. If they aren't, then it's probably your alternator or battery that went out.

Did it crank? If it does then your starter and battery are fine.

Also, since you drove on a bad spark plug, I've heard stories of people's catalytic converters clogging up from all the unburned fuel.

I'm pretty sure you had only "one" bad copper spark plug. A single cylinder misfire can make the whole thing feel like crap. You should have just replaced that one copper plug with a new one, and things would have probably ran just fine.

Bad spark plugs happen, it's just a fact of life. It doesn't mean that all your copper plugs were crap.
