Neutral Position Switch for M/T

Okay, I admit it. I'm one of the apparently car-challenged folks who managed to break the neutral position switch while changing my transmission fluid. <sheepish grin>

I've got a new one all ready to go but I'm having some trouble getting the old one out. Everything is ready to be pulled off but I cannot for the life of me get the electrical harness connector for the old switch free. It's apparently clipped to a bracket on the transmission. I worked at it for about 45 minutes last night trying to unclip it with no success.

Has anyone actually gotten this thing unclipped? Or am I going to have to <shudder> loosen the bolt on the tranny holding the clip to get the clip off to get the connector off?

Thanks guys!

Use a flathead and bump it off w/a hammer. It will probably crack the old one, but it will come off and you dont got to worry w/it b/c you already have a new one.

Okay, what's the best way to get at it? So far I've managed to not take anything major off to get as far as I have. I guess I'm stuck removing the air intake and other things attached in the vicinity?

Thanks for the quick reply!

Well to tell you the truth. I replaced mine while the tranny was out when I was doing the 5spd swap. I really couldnt tell you. I think its on the very bottom. So go under the car and get it that way. This is the spot I used to drain the tranny fluid, so yeah from the bottom.
