Fuel Gauge poblem
Fuel Gauge poblem
My fuel gauge now only shows 3/4 tank when I fill it all the way up.
I have done a search on this issue and it seems that this is a somewhat frequent problem but none of the post show a solution. Does anyone know how to resolve this problem? I have already tried to manually move the needle while the engine is on but it just returns to the previous position. Any help would be appreciated.

I have had that problem for the last 1.5 years. It woudl only show 3/4 full but when it gets around the 1/4 tank mark, it then becomes accurate.
I stopped using shell gasoline and started to use another brand and no problems ever since. Weird...but I have never seen my tank sit at full after a fill up but now I do.

Thanks for the replies guys. I've been using Racetrack premium gas for over a year now without problems until this last time. For the fuel injector cleaner, is there a particular brand I should use?
sorry i don't have any answers towards your question...
but my fuel needle does almost the opposite, it goes way past F and hasn't moved, just stays nearly straight up. this happened after i swapped out gauge clusters for SE gauges on a new cluster i bought cuz my old one was all messed up. anyone know how to fix this??
it's a goodthing i usually only watch the mileage instead of the needle, but i'd still like the needle to work. sorry to but in to your thread, but they're both about needles not being right, right?
