Why cant i get a straight up answer?

is it possible to add a shock sensor/motion detector/ glass braking to my 98 keyless entery system or no?

I know this has been asked alot of times but no1 has given me a good enough answer. i was at my local nissan dealer today. i asked 4 of the guys there and 2 of em said yes and 2 of em said NO. i went to a shop that does alarms ONLY and they said NO. they said no cuz my 98 doesnt even have an alarm to begin with, its just keyless. so i dunno if this guy was bsing to milk my money or saying the truth! i went to another nissan dealer and again i got YES and NO from different people.

whats the final answer? YES OR NO?

if yes, which ones work and which ones dont?

thanks alot.

I added a shock sener to my oem alarm about 4 years ago. It's a code-alarm shock sensor add on unit for like $90 installed.

Buy a shock sensor and use the negative trigger and hook it up to the hood pin. Very easy and effective way to monitor your car for motion with the factory security system. You can get the sensors at just about any car electronics shop for about 30 bucks.

Did mine (install shock sensor). Bought it for $20 at local car shop (you can probably get it for $10 online, but why wait?). Wired it into the hood signal circuit. I tested it at the time of install, and it worked, but today...hehe...I got a reminder that it does work. I was changing my spark plugs, and had a friend "helping" me. He hit his head on the hood of the car, and the alarm went off. A bit of blood and the horn was going off.

If you want, I can e-mail the instructions to you, as I copied them from a maxima site into a word doc for easy reference when I did the install (and still have it, wow). Just give me your e-mail address DoGGy.

shirazi16f91@hotmail.com thanks

SXN, i knew about HOW TO and the write up. its just that i wasnt completly sure that it would work and i was thinking that maybe a SPECIFIC type of sensor works. but now i learned that any sensor would do it, right?

not any, you do need to consider how sensitive of a sensor you want (some are adjustable, some are set at a certain level). but the shock sensors in general don't vary greatly.
