Check engine light diagnosis problem
Check engine light diagnosis problem
Yes I read the sticky. And I searched.
I walked out to my car armed with a philips and a regular screwdriver. I removed the black cover near the gas pedal. Here's my problem. There isn't a screw there. And the sticker that covers that hole says it's an idle speed adjustment. How am I supposed to find out why the check engine light is on? Besides taking it to a dealership that is?

Ummmm NO. 99's DO have the screw. My car even has the newer ECU, and it has the screw.... Works wonders. You just need to cut the sticker away first. Also, I've found that an electronics screwdriver works best. THe screw is small, plastic, and easy to strip...Careful! Good luck.
