I will be doing at some point.

Hey JNCo......how many coats did you use? And did you use engine enamel since the temp will be high, or did you use regular auto paint?

Thanks In Advance.

use a good duplicolor engine enamel.......when you bake them in the oven again, you want to make sure that the paint doesnt become damaged. I have a super black paint job, and i will end up using the duplicolor glossy black. about 4 or 5 good thin coats should get you a nice amount of layering and a good shine even through the glass.

i read vqpower.com's black out and said to use wheel paint. im sure that can withstand the temp, but would it withstand the oven?. im trying to do this today but so far its a b****. im still trying to figure out how to take off the stupid headlight itself. im so frustrated right now... gotta find a write up on how to take it off...

The ones mzmtg has are nice, AE EDITIONS. The ones JNCoRacer has look like diarrhea dookie, ricey as hell. Completely black covers are illegal, maybe not everywhere, and the light output is terrible. If you did what MZMTG did and then put a coat or 2 of smoke paint on the outside that would look awesome...

Um, look at page 3 of his site, mine and his are the same. I used plain old flat black paint, nothing special.

i just finished painting the housing. took me 4 hours. 4 hours is a long time, especially when you guys say 1-2 hours. looks nice though. i used duplicolor's wheel paint: graphite, and 3m's painters masking tape. this is new for me so yeah....

Two coats with a primer base coat just to help the paint stick. And yes it was engine enamel...high gloss. Make sure you rub the surface you're painting with alcohol to clean it first.

Hahaha!!! I have to agree with the dookie part. That was how I originally had them. I used vynyl adhesive to cover the lights and make them look like projectors. It was the worst decision I made on the car. That, and the altezza's. ('96 not many options) The last page has the current ones. "AE".

I would like to apologize to all Maxima owners for previously "ricing" my Max and projecting a disgraceful image of "VQ Awesomeness" I was stupid and uneducated on what is asthetically correct.

I've seen a white MAX driving around here with a pair of those on. It was around 10pm and you could barely tell his headlights were on, how do people manage to sell this stuff when it's obviously ILLEGAL...

seriously. why would you sacrifice original usage for looks? and how much actual light goes through that black lense? dont think its a lot. its kinda stupid actually.
oh and why would you spend $189 for something that you can do yourself for less that $20? makes no sense... unless you're lazy or youre prone to screw up.

procarparts.com is supposed to be releasing the AE style headlights, and clearance lights pretty soon. Also when I painted my headlights I didnt notice any decrease in light output.
