Question about Injen Intake

I had an injen intake put on my max. I love this sound and performance increase. However my question is about hat little 2 pronged sensor that goes into the side of the intake inlet. Do I need this to be in the injen intake or can i just leave it out. My car pulls harder without it but I am worried about damaging something or ruining the cat?Does anybody know?

Uh...It would be nice to have a pic, but I am guessing you mean the connector that goes onto the upper piping section of the intake, where looks like an elbow macaroni noodle? I don't understand why there would be any performance increase from leaving that unplugged. I think it's all in your head.

You had someone else install your intake? PLEASE don't tell me you paid somebody to do that!
