Ball Joint / Tie Rod Seperating
Ball Joint / Tie Rod Seperating
I'm doing a front wheel bearing and luckily my brother in law mechanic has offered to press out the old one and press in the new one,etc for me at his work for free!
But I have to get everything off to get it to him.
Getting the brakes off, axle out, strut off is no problem.
Since I have to basically give him the whole hub/knuckle/baffle plate assembly then I need to disconnect the ball joint and tie rod.
Are these two things hard to do without messing anything up?
I see in haynes it says to use a pickle fork tool to pop the ball joint. Do I need one or can I use something else? I guess I'm more worried about the ball joint than the tie rod.
Any help appreciated.

those joints just pop out if you hit it in proper spot; or just use this tool
