replaced KS but code remains

i just switched out my KS, which had a crack in it, drove the car about 10 miles, and immediately checked the ECU for any codes, and once again the KS code came up.....

so does it take a few miles before the engine realizes the KS is new....

or did i not tighten the screw enough....

any thoughts???

You have to reset the ECU. I changed my KS on saturday and forgot to clear the code. Went on a long field trip sunday and cleared the ECU right after it. Immediately the car felt stronger, no more hesitation...

yup. clear the codes. If you don't the ecu will keep the code in memory for xx turns of the ignition key. ie.. like 30 or something.
