Metric Climate Control Temperature Display

I recent bought a 98 Maxima SE which was from Canadian origin. Consequently the digital temperature displays in celsius. I called the dealer and they said that there was one wire on the back of the temperature control unit that if you disconnect it will convert the display to farenheit..just bring it in. I would assume that this might be in a manual, but I don't have one yet. Thanks for any help.
