"The computer system is a mini-itx motherboard that fits into a custom plexi case about 7" square by 4". It sits in the trunk next to my subs. The mobo runs of a DC/DC powersupply, a 30GB hard drive, USB soundcard, USB GPS, and an ATI 7500 video card. Wireless keyboard for data entry"

I don't know about that particular GPS but I know that it's easy to purchase GPS PCMCIA cards that easily integrate themselves with most of today's map software. I've seen quite a few people with some of their ricers that have integrated laptops into the dash and this is how they get GPS.

I've done the car computer... after I get a chance to jump in on the built-in dash screens that Redmax sells, I will make the 2nd version of it. I will do it all!

There's software out there that allows you to synch a certain folder once it comes into your home networks range (ie. garage/driveway)... You can get GPS recievers that connect via USB... I plan to try some voice recognition softare... man there are so many possibilities.

You could buy an ODBII kit (software & connector) and run a cable up to the connector on the car and have ecu info whenever you wanted.

Been done

It got old quite quickly though. You'd be suprised how much concentration it takes to click and go through menus while driving. I took the computer out yesterday (kept the screen, the resolution of those indash vga screens destroys those analog LCD's). Overall, it wasn't worth the headaches. That guy did a great job with just bondo though...
