I didn't know what I was getting my self into.

My freind has like a 95 2 door legend and wanted to race me in my sisters civic. I said no way let me go get the maxima... got the max and we headed to some industrials. Lined up about 5 times b-4 we could get a race off. Flagged we both had a little wheel spin. Stayed with him till the top of second gear. It was all down hill from there. Lost by like half a car. (thats bad for me cuz I usually don't race unless i know ima win)

anyone know the stats on this car... hp, 1/4 mile, ect...

If he has the 6spd version I'd say you did fine if he beat you by only 1/2 carlength. The Type II Legend engine is 230hp and the car does 0-60 in mid- to high 6s. It's a sweet car!

i had a 92 legend coupe (200hp) auto and ive taken a lot of cars with it. i always get taken off the line (even by a civic) but i always come back with a vengence. ive beaten my friends 95 auto max (my inspiration to my max). he would take me off the line but would pass him up by the end of first (i had an intake and exhaust). i really loved the legend but some guy in an impala ss jacked me over, literally. im sure a 5-speed max can take a type one legend but up to 70+, the legend is flawless. just my 2 cents so dont flame at me.

Hmm the 93 6spd Legend had 230 HP but weighed 3900 pounds. 0-60 was low 7's. I say it could take an auto Maxima by 1/2 a car length, but I'd bet money my 5spd could walk on one.

Brian, I don't know how you came up with that number but the Coupe weighed ~3500lbs. You would be surprised at how quick it is, IF you ever drove one.

I had an 89 coupe that I bought from a guy that worked in Japan for awhile. He was able to rice it up quite a bit, probably from the 230 stock HP to around 300. I raced SS z28 six speeds and smoked the hell out of them. The only race I ever lost in that car was to a Saleen S351 with a SC and NOS. That was not even a race after we hit about 60. However, those coupe legends can be extremely fast if you can get your hands on some of the Japanese parts. peace

just a half a car

half a car is not bad, just be glad your race didn't include any corners or you woulda saw a lot of his exhaust. 2-Door Legends made for speed, luxury, and cornering. Maxima's, family luxury car with power.

I almost got a 94 legend, this is a 95, eck look at the back; the 94 didn't have (if i remeber correctly) an ugly end like that.

'93-type II engine
'94-reshaped a$$

i like the redesigned rear end. its a lil more curvey and i think it makes it sportier. just my 2 cents

Did you power brake it? The launch makes a big diff. It has made over a .4 diff in my 1/4 mile times. Stepping on it vs power braking. Looks like its time for you to get some mods.

I think he meant a JDM legend. he said he got it from a guy who lived in japan. im not sure how much the old JDM legends have but i know they had turbos in the last generation.

It was an 89 Coupe type L (luxury), no turbo, just hella mods on it. The 89 coupe L had 230 hp stock. The engine was even blueprinted...is the Maxima's engine blueprinted?
