Engine rebuilding...

I have been trying for a while now to locate some engine rebuilding kits for my maxima, and havebeen unsuccessful. If anyone here knows a good site that I can navigate to locate some info about them, (like cost, what the kit includes, etc. ) That would be awesome.

i dont think they're are any "kits" made for the maxima. IF you want to rebuild your engine, get a FMS (or haynes/chilton), get the proper parts you want to replace, like piston rings....pistons? im not too clear on what you wish to change, but there are no "kits"

balancing your parts would help the engine redline higher, and spool up smoother, but not make more power. as far as i know, the 4th gen engines dont have "balance problems"

Thanks for the help guys, I was talking to a guy on AIM, found out because of the timing chain rebuild nd even replacing and all that makes it extremely hard to do. Iheard somewhere 26hr book job to rebuild a motor at a local shop, think how much that would cost!!!???!!!???!! As far as it goes now, I am gonna do afew more bolt ons and achieve as much HP as possible. Probably the MEVI manifold and a JWT ecu, port and polish the manifold and the TB. Then finish up some leftover suspension work and call it quits.

I took my maxima to the mechanic and was told that the oil is either burning or leaking through the engine while driving. They said this is a costly repair and I should just try to sell the car. The thing is its in great condition besides that, with only 72,000 miles. Is there anywhere in the Philadelphia area that specializes in this..or what is my best action plan do you think? I know this thread is really old, but I could not make a new one..

First of all, you just brought back a 6 year old thread.

Secondly, you're in the wrong subforum (this is for the A32, not the A33B).

Thirdly, you need to check your regional forums for regional topics.

Fourth, there are newbie threads for a REASON, for this very reason. http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...on-thread.html

Fifth, you need to search, oil burning is a very highly discussed issue.
