need help with two codes regarding EVAP
hi people, for those who had encounter with this or know this problem. the scanned codes are P0440 and p1448 the first is EVAP system leak and the other is EVAP value open. do anyone know a easy and inexpensive way to fix this? any sensable comments are good. read the haynes manuel and its no help. thanks in advance

Before you call me a lightweight, I tried on 2 occasions to try to correct the matter, following the instructions from the forum. Spent 4 hours combined, and not effective use of time!
If you have plenty of time, I think it can be done. The key is you must replace the parts, not just spray WD40 into them like the forum suggests. That means the boost sensor, control valve, and EVAP canister. The dealer told me the control valve fails and gives you an open value. Obviously all the WD40 in the world isn't gonna make it close. You can reset the lamp, and initially it will stay off for days. Eventually, you reset it and it comes right back in seconds. Good luck. If you replace the parts yourself, write it up if possible.
first P0440 is normally a large evap leak ...such as a missing gas cap or line pulled off in the system....first do a visual inspection of the gas cap and gas cap seal then check the hoses and fittings around the evap canister and fuel tank....use your nose to sniff around for gas vapor in areas that should not smell like gas ...you might get lucky....then reset the computer and drive until the light comes back on...recheck and see if both codes are present.....it is much eaiser to trace the cause of 1 code rather than 2....however they may be related to the same problem....later
P0440 = 0705
P1448 = 0309
0705
Diagnostic Trouble Code 0705 points to a problem with the Evaporative Emission Control System.
This malfunction is detected when the EVAP control system has a leak or the EVAP control system does not operate properly. (EVAP = EVAPorative emissions.)
Possible causes include...
- incorrect fuel tank vacuum relief valve
- incorrect fuel filler cap
- fuel filler cap vent remains open or fails to close
- foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap
- a leak in the line between the intake manifold and the
EVAP Canister Vacuum Control Valve
- foreign matter caught in the EVAP CVCV
- leaks in the EVAP canister or fuel tank
- leaks in the EVAP purge line (pipe and rubber tube)
- EVAP purge line rubber tube bent
- blocked or bent rubber tube to EVAP control system pressure sensor
- loose or disconnected rubber tube
- EVAP CVCV and circuit
- EVAP Canister Purge Volume Control Solenoid Valve and circuit
- absolute pressure sensor
- tank fuel temperature sensor
- MAP/BARO switch solenoid valve and circuit
- blocked or bent rubber tube to MAP/BARO switch solenoid valve
- O-ring of EVAP CVCV is missing or damaged
- water separator
- EVAP canister saturated with water
- EVAP control system pressure sensor
- refueling EVAP vapor cut valve
- ORVR system leaks
This is a "jackpot" DTC. It points to so many things you don't know what to check. It is often combined with another DTC which is more specific and therefore more helpful.
