You have to measure it. Off hand, if it's been 30-40k, might as well replace it unless you plan for a fidanza in the future.

0.3mm of material above the rivets is very thin. That's probably the min you can have. What does YOURS measure?

Stick a toothpick in there and mark it. Then measure it with a ruler or something equally as ghetto For the clutch parts on Courtesy's site. I'd CALL specifically ask.

I don't know what new specs are. BTW. Try not to start a new thread for every new related question. Thanks

Why not be prudent and visit an auto store and browse though their service manuals? Or buy a Nissan FSM? For work like this I can't believe you don't have one already. How do you know what to torque everything down to????

Get the OEM NIssan clutch CHEEEEEAP!

Daikin Clutch kit - 4th Gen. Maxima's OEM clutch - (NOT Key Value)

Get in touch with John (aka: .org member "Clutch King") at Direct Transmission Parts in NY.

800-989-8726

His part #: 06044

The kit includes the friction disc, pressure plate, clutch release bearing & alignment tool - everything you need.

I won't quote his price online here, but it's much less than Courtesy N., or anywhere else I found - trust me on that. I received the clutch kit just the other day as promised & highly recommend this seller/.org member.

-K-

PS: My new replacement clutch measures 9mm thick from the face side of the friction surface to the backside of the friction disc. The thickness from the friction surface to the highest rivet measures 3mm, so apparently that 3mm is the "new" specification, not the minimum safe thickness. Anyway, hope this helps.

. . .and yes, buy a FSM or Hayne's manual - well worth the investment.
