My cat is blown. Question about high flow
My cat is blown. Question about high flow
I've got my stock cat, no exhaust mods except y pipe and i ran with a CEL for quite some time. I can't pass emissions and everything we've looked at is pointing at the cat being blown, reason being since the cat is all f'ed up it's giving the O2 sensor odd readings which is causing my motor to run rich. I've tried pulling codes and I get the all good code.
My main question is, do you think a high flow cat will actually pass emissions... I live in Tx, so I'm not sure.
TIA

I know that if you get a highflow cat it will pass as long as you let it warm up good and hot for like a half hour before emmissions test. I hope this helps and I honestly wouldn't worry about not passing emmissions if you end up getting the high flow.
The thing with high flow cats is that some are designed to be emissions legal and some are designed to be like a straight pipe but to look like a cat. Check with the place your buying it from, it should clearly say somewhere whether or not it will pass emmisions.
BTW, the ones on Ebay will NOT pass emmisions
