Lowering my car...

Is it possible to lower my car without buying shocks and lowering springs? Im not really looking for a performance upgrade, I just want my car dropped.

Only 2 ways i know of:

1)Cut your springs
2)Heat up your springs

Ask anyone here. They will all adamantly tell you not to do either of the above. There are springs that lower your car but are close to a stock ride. I beleive H&R's are the closest to stock. Something to look into. But just dont cut/heat up your springs.

I suggest Progress springs, or HR springs. They give a comfy ride with a decent drop. Couple them with either Tokica Illimuna's or blues (cant remember which is the better shock) or KYB AGX's. I have the Progress/AGX setup and I love the ride and the look. Even with the harsher cold weather the ride hasnt gotten as bad as I thought it was going to!

Ya, I am thinking of getting this kit from custommaxima...the Tokico HP Series Suspension Kit. I hear good things. What am I looking for price wise on installation?

Do it yourself. It's not too difficult, just takes a little bit of time.

HP struts, if I'm not mistaken are the Tokico Blues which are strictly stock replacements. Go for something like KYB AGX or Tokico Illumina's. As for adjustable springs...what are those?

I dont know if that is what they are called...Umm, I had them on my Integra. They were adjustable so I could raise and lower my cars height as I pleased.

If you're not good with this kinda thing, then I would seriously consider paying for it. could be anywhere from $100-$300 for the install depending on where you take it.

You must be thinking of Coilovers. They have those for the Maxima too. Might want to start saving though. They're very expensive. I would just go with some spring and struts. It'll be cheaper pretty much no matter what combo you go with.

cheapest combo of gettin a decent drop is:

1. kyb gr2 shocks ($240)
2. maxspeed lowering springs ($90)

don't cut or heat up your springs.

Ya I think I am just going to go with the Tokico Illumina set. I hope that the drop is decent.
