Toyota Celica A/T shifter on 4th gen Max

I know this is a Nissan related site, but I want to know if anyone has tried putting in a Celica('00-'02), A/T shifter ****? It is one of a very few cars that have the O/D button on the shifter and it looks like it would fit. The others are the Eclipse and the Diamante. It's pretty cool looking if you want a sporty look. The Levoc is nice if you want to dress up the car to be a luxury car, but the Celica is really sporty. I got quotes from the local stealership for $55 for the non-leather version and $100 for the leather version.
If anyone has tried this please let me know if it was a good fit without any cutting or stff.

There is a leather version?? Which model of Celica does it come from? The dealership I called say they sell the ceclia shifter in various pieces and to piece them together as one unit will cost alot of money. He basically said it wouldn't be worthwhile. Anyway, I bought the whole shifter console off a 2000 GT from a junkyard and I'm going to give it a try.

i had a thread about this about a year and a half ago, but only one person responded. he said to try it out but i never got around it. they should fit cuz most nissan and toyota aftermarket shifters are interchangable. not positive but they should, and i agree they do look cool. try a celica forum or look on ebay or a junkyard. do it up! maybe you'll start a trend...
