I hear a low grinding for a brief period after I release my brake pedal, I think from the rear passenger side. There is no noise on application of the brakes. My pads are at 50% and the rotors are smooth. Parking brake is fully disengaged.

Any ideas?

Is there a caliper troubleshooting & rebuild link? (I'll 'donate' my 20 bucks after X-mas...)

I too just started hearing this noise just last week. What a pain. Everything seems normal. Gotta check it out. Is the problem common??

 

Thanks, that helped trmendously! Can I just get by with new pads & retainer clips, and turning the rotors? I'm not sure that I can manage cable replacement.
