Cylinder 3 Misfire, please help

Cylinder 3 Misfire, please help

My car is running like crap. RPM pulse during idle and accelaration. i ran a computer on it and it said cylinder 3 misfire. anybody else have this problem with a possible easy solution?

It can either be your spark plug, ignition coil and maybe your fuel injector. Try switching the ignition coil from cylinder 3 to cylinder 1 and the spark plug from cylinder to cylinder 5. Then see if you get a the misfire code for another cylinder.

thanks, just to check the cylinder order is:

1 3 5
2 4 6

correct?

I had the same problem two months ago on the same cylinder. I switched the coils with cyl. 1, I replaced the spark plug, still the same problem. Don't look for the ECU code to move to another cyl - it didn't show any new code in my case. The best way to diagnose is to turn on the engine, unplug the coil connector and listen for the engine if it makes a difference. Removing the connector from the bad cylinder shouldn't make any difference.
In my case replacing the injector was the answer. Unfortunately for cyl 3 you have to remove some parts at the top of the engine to reach the injector.
