From time to time my '98 has some trouble popping off. I've got the hold the starter on for 5 seconds or so before the engine takes off. It seems to happen most often after the car has sat for a few hours. But it also has happened after running into the store for a short time etc. What do you think?

 

thats happened to mine too a few times, not too often, and always after its been sitting for a few hours. I know i have to regrease my starter (it makes that funny noise) but i don't think thats the problem with the rare starting problem..
