Engine rebuilt?
Engine rebuilt?
Hi, I bought a maxima 95 se manual, about 2 months ago, and I was curious.
The car has 170000 miles.
Should I rebuilt the engine? (I do want to put lots of performance upgrades, once I have more money)
If yes how much would it cost?
where can I find someone to do this kind of job? (I live in Lowell, Ma) but I would like quality work insted of being close to my house.
Thanks

I think it would prob be easier to just buy an engine with fewer miles on it.
Just my two cents.
Just drive it, Nissans go a long way as long as you maintain the car. If you are that worried I would take madchefs advice and buy a motor with less miles. Also rebuild cost varies all on what you want done/replaced. I have a 240 w/190K that runs like a dream and a friend has a turbo 240 w/210K that runs great. Nick
I agree with what's been said as well. My car has 180k miles on it and still runs strong.
Also, low-mile VQ30DEs can be had for less than $800. That is far less cost and effort than rebuilding your existing engine.
