another rsx down....

Well last night , driving mindin my own biz.
Here it comes, my girlfriend says. Heaclights at 120+ coming on fast from behind me. The rsx passes, breaks, I take off OD in my Auto and seem to come up fast now right behind it now.
Rsx guy was by himself. Me with my girlfriend and her best friend.
from 85-90mph, OD off. Hammered down.
Passing, passing, 1 car and 2 cars on him by 120ish. We waved bye at least.

then gave a for racing and not wastin my gas.

Yeah , i might of been tryin to show off with the girls in the car, but hey with a maxima id be stupid not too.

It's just my opinion that it's really dumb to do that kinda stuff w/ other people in the car because you never know what could happen. Blowing a tire at 120 could make things alot worse than at 70.

Not that I'm telling you not to post about it, but it's annoying to me to see people post about road kills, and then other people posting RIP stories.

Anyway...

there is no way in hell you could of taken that car, especially on high end. even with a 5sp you would need plenty mods to hang with the S on the highway. He probably did not no how to drive or YOUR LYING!

arguing about who should win is pointless cause there are too many variables.

yea, this guy was crazy. i was speeding along, and he (30 something asian guy with high girl) was there, after me being behind him for a while, he got over, then swerved back in behind me, and rode hella close to my bumper. i basically said "f*ck this" and let off the gas, from 100 down to 60, i let it slow down, and the guy was all over me. north star v8 isnt slow either. a little weaving, and he got stuck behind traffic, whole thing lasted like 15 minutes, he would NOT leave me alone. I race sometimes, but only real late at night, and not on major residential roads. favorite place is a 4 lane loading dock by the bay/rail road head...no houses or people, play it safe

i bet him by 1-2 cars. hows that a easy kill?

Neway guys. Many of you never raced 1 and still call me bluff against a honda.
Unless you've race 1 w/ my mods listed youll still be on maxima.org posting flames against your own kind.

um, i have raced one. with an auto, and squeeked out a win. he had cold air (i could hear it when we talked later) new rims and tires, catback...couldnt tell what else (well it was lowered with a body kit) wasnt that difficult for the non-type S

Fine, the guy was a crippled driver or was smart enough to back off going that fast. I wouldn't have responded if I didn't know how much power a type-s has, ESPECIALLY when it's 5th-6th gear VTEC.

I've driven it too many times to say the car wasn't that faster on the highway.

So congrats to you, you beat a sucky/or smarter driver.

What you guys dont understand is that once you get going fast torqe wins on the top end . a lotus elise does 12's in the 1/4 mile but will only go 140-145 top speed. I also have a rsx Sorry i thought he had a manuel tranny, no he couldnt beat a type S if it were trying , my 5 speed max will.

Nadir-s said it best. you either beat a smart person, or a sucky driver if it was infact a type-S.

i used to own a 97' SE auto, with intake, catback, ypipe, vbmod and throttle body.

i current own an integra GSR. anyone that knows cars will tell you that an
RSX-s is faster than a gsr. and i will tell you undoubtably that my mildly modded gsr (intake, catback, clutch, flywheel) would have raped my maxima on the highway. i have even raced my friends 5speed maxima with ebay intake and catback, i still beat him. (from 3rd gear roll) only problem with these cars are that you have to know how to utilize top end to get the most of the car.

car for car, rsx ownz jooo!! the top end on these cars are really quite amazing.
with excellent gearing, v-tec, and all top end, with an 8k redline. the highways is their playground.

for the record, i am not bias with honda/acura. i have owned 2maximas, and am considering purchasing an 03 6speed next year for my 3rd maxima.

in the top end, the type-S will probably take a 4th gen. if you're running from a full stop, it's much closer.
when my '96 was bone stock (not to mention automatic), I raced my friend's '03 RSX-S 6 spd. (intake/exhaust) four times, and beat him twice. it was close every time.

come one, rsx-s are quick but not that quick. a max will take one out depending on the driver and the car. if the car is old and killed, no it won't win. but if it is in good condition, it will take it easily. especially if it is modded right.

It's all about the driver. Auto or no auto it all depends how the driver knows to utilize maximum power. If your not lying about beating the type S good for you but if you are that's just sad.
Ciao

My buddy has an RSX type S. Ive driven it and yeah its quick. Although we have not raced, I have raced one on the highway. He came up on my right hand side and we both punched it. I had seen him comming so I had already dropped down a gear. After we both punched it I began to pull on him and continued to pull untill he finally backed down and exited. They are quick, but my max pulled on him. Now, the RSX was STOCK and I do have a few mods so with mods and at high end I feel the RSX would definalty win.

What would winin high end?

Stock maxima W/MEVI vs. RSX-S W/VTEC?

I need some dyno graphs SteVTEC!

depends, what gear? how high of high end? where do you have your mevi switch set (very important!)? do you have an ecu, does it come with raised rev limiter (also very important!)?

I still vote RSX. You guys have to either drive or be a passenger in a type-s when it hits vtec (especially on highway). Then you'll kno.

i'm glad the conversation went from stupid immature driving to what it should have been about, can max beat rsx and what does it take.

The rsx, i have never driven one but i raced a few. One i raced with extra 150 pound passenger, subs, 2k1 rims, intake wit stillen filter, y-pipe obx catback, STS and i beat it easily. It was a type S and he had muffler and intake. I was surprised how bad i beat him that i kenw it had to be the driver. He was stick and so am i. we raced a few more times through rolls and i kept owning him so either he didnt want to drive too fast to not mess up his car or he just sucks.

Really, i learned this the hard way but when you are talking a 0-25 hp difference and 0-400 weight difference, its all about the driver. So its very possible for bob to win and if he said he did, then he did, other factors could prove it wasnt a real race but only he seen what he seen and he's not gonna post BS on here for no reason.

BTW, doesnt a Vtec work the same way as an MEVI? it would be very interesting to know what works better? Honda's Vtec or Nissan's VI. I remember stevetec mentioning a while back that nissan came out with VI first in the 92 maxima? and also in some other nissan that isnt so popular?

We need to find that old thread where he explains why the VI owns the vtec. I remember him giving vivid details about how nissan invented the variable intake system, and that honda tried to imitate it?

All I know is that I want a MEVI and a JWT ECU!!!

You can't compare VTEC to the MEVI. Sure they both improve top-end, but that's where the similarites end.
