Still no header dynos?

What ever happened to all the people that were suppose to be dynoing with their Cattman and the "other" headers. It's as if they've all disappeared. Were the results that bad?

I was under the impression that Don in Texas already gave results on headers over a year ago.

He only had the shorty headers that noshua was selling and they only gave like 2-3 hp over the y-pipe. Dave B is talking about those and the ones from Cattman, long tube headers that replace the y-pipe also...

No dyno results, but the Cattman headers do make very real power. I've now driven two 4th gen maximas with the headers and I have no doubts about the power gains.

Well I guess everyone did not see but Ironlung posted results on his homepage but I also think that included JWT cams also. I'll try and find the link to bring up his thread. From there, go to his homepae and see his dyno graphs.

Not quite.

Don ported the OEM exhaust manifolds.

As far as I know, Iron Lung has yet to do a dyno with the headers or cams. The only dynos on his page are with MEVI/Y-pipe/Intake/exhaust and nitrous. His max NA fwhp was 188 so I hope that's not with headers and cams.

That is the dyno without cams and headers. He's been running pretty lean with the headers and cams..

On each dyno it shows the mods and neither of them have headers. How would he get 285hp with headers? It's his old mods and n2o. Go to FIND MEMBERS on top of the page and use that to et to his page...

I got a little anxious and installed the cams. I apologize to everyone who was expecting the results but I don't think it would have been a good comparison. I'm 2000 miles away from where I first dynoed and I've also removed the power steering and a/c since then. So I decided to save my money until everything is ready to be tuned.
I'll post about the cams in a couple of days. I want to dyno first.

Peak hp gain is only a small part of the story. What about midrange power gains?

This is why most people will stay away from headers. Dollar cost per HP is too high.

You saw what dyno graphs? Cattman or the shorty headers?

Average over the y-pipe for the cattman headers was 1.5 or so hp over the y-pipe mid range..........peak gain was 2hp. Its really quite sad....its a waste of an install.

With that said other than the stock y-pipe is there any other major bottleneck. Maybe the cams even though they cost an arm and 2 legs to install??
