Oil pressure switch - Question..

Ok, changed the oil, got the new switch, Borg-Warner brand.. Disconnected the electrical connector, cleaned the plug and rubber cover all up. Put the teflon tape on the correct way.. Found a 1 1/16" socket to use.. All set.

Threaded it in by hand no problem.. used the socket and ratchet to snug it on down... However after a good while I am not reaching a point to where it "snugs down" and it's obvious that everything is where it should be..

I find it hard to believe that the threads on the engine would have stripped that easily, but I don't want to keep going for obvious reasons until I've heard from a few people maybe.

No leaks or anything, everything seems fine, just it doesn't seem like it has tightened down like a oil pan bolt would (where it is obvious that it is going no further easily).. Any tightening has been done with one hand, so no huge force has been used or anything..

Just a little concerned, hoping someone will share their thoughts..

If it's not leaking....Leave it alone.

I'm going to go check again in a bit, but didn't see any after running it to check for leaks after the oil change.

I've been guilty of stripping more than one set of threads in the PAST, so I'm ultra careful with that kind of stuff now..

It definitely threaded in cleanly and easily and I *never* got to a point of "ooh why it is turning so easily all of a sudden after getting tighter?"

I used about 1 1/2 turns of teflon tape and all, and made sure it was conforming to the threads before putting it in..
