5sp swap: P/N Switch

I'm a little confused as to the wiring of the park-neutral switch based on HLH's instructions: am I running one wire, or two? The harness at the back of my clutch pedal has two pins. Also, at the tranny end, am I tapping into the wires on the ECU end of the harness, or the transmission end? the latter would make more sense, i guess. and does anything need to be done with the cruise control harness on the front end of the clutch pedal? i'm really trying to avoid a check engine light, using my AT ECU. Thanks for you help.

Harold's instructions concerning the P/N switch are pretty clear about what to do. But basically, you take two wires that originally went to the automatic transmission, cut them and splice them together. Harold's tell you which wires.

If you use the AT ecu, you are going to have CELs related to the AT shift solenoids, no matter what. There is no avoiding that without swapping the ecu for a MT ecu.

there is a revision to harold's instructions that says those wires need to be run to the clutch p/n switch, not simply spliced together. anyone done this?

and i'm sure i've heard of swaps using the AT ECU w/o a CEL.

I wasn't aware of that. How is that accomplished (I wonder)? Maybe by disconnecting the tcu from the ecu?

the guy that did my swap just jumped the p/n switch underneath the relay box.

i have no problem with it i don't have to pres sthe clutch pedal to start the car.

not a problem for me cause i have a turbo timer so i have to leave my car in neutral anyways.

where exactly is the tcu located? would unplugging it from ecu cause a CEL?
