Cigarette lighter socket won't stay in...

My cigarette lighter socket has a real problem staying still. When i use it to light up a smoke, the lighter comes out and so does the whole socket piece. I probably messed it up this summer when I was putting in my CD player. Is there a trick where it won't ever come out of the hole when i pull the lighter out?

Thanks!

Ryan

Ever since i got my CD player installed mine does that same thing too!, Its pretty damn annoying, mabe ill just superglue it in there sometime.

I dont know waht they messed up, but it sucks and is very annoying. I use it to charge my cell phone though, so i dont have to unplug it as often as you do.. but it still sucks.

If you find a solution, can you private message me pls?

thanks

check if you have any blown fuse. the fuse box is located under your steering wheel. i would check the 12V fuse and the cigarette fuse.

you can buy new fuses at any local auto shop.

Mine did the same thing. To fix it, take ou the dash trim around the shifter and pull really hard on the back of the socket till you hear a click. It just needs to be locked down again.

yup mine did that, i got away with twisting the cigg lighter or cell phone charger clockwise and it stopped popping out, but i guess eternity059's idea is much better and more permanent.

take two fuses from your fuse pannel and hammer one in on each side of the cig. lighter socket (kinda like a wedge on each side)....it should stay and you will have checked your fuses...j/k, please dont do that

**I have had the same problem too and I have just delt with it...I just push it back in when when it pops out
