should i get the stillen leather?
he said that it would be a mild two tone and that the stillen logo would not be embroidered onto the seats. i figure just single tone seat covers from that other company runs about $500 and the install would probably be about 100 also. oh well, it's either leather or ecu right now. decisions decisions.
If it is $695 INSTALLED, go for it. I just installed the Leatherseats.com group deal this weekend and it's a good 6-8 hour job. I would not trust anyone that only wanted $100 for an install; either they don't know what they're doing or they are sloppy.
Most places, i.e., Katzkins or Leatherseats, are normally charging $645 for a leather kit. Two-tone is no extra because they are made to order. FWIW, the group deal was $560 with free embroidery on the front seats. I'll have pics when I get back to the office tomorrow; been out since Friday for Mardi Gras!!

didn't know that it was a decent price. i just don't know how they plan to sell the leather for 1200 retail. anyways, after some thought i'm having the ecu done on thursday. if nothing else i'll have a reason to go to the track on friday. thanks for the info though.
If it says Stillen on it or if it comes from Stillen, I generally won't buy it...
I have had too many bad experiences with the quality and suitability of their products... I actually question their talent as a car "tuner".
I know one guy who was so frustrated with Stillen, that he actually spent money to take his strut tower braces and HICAS eliminator plate to a machine shop and had them machine out the Stillen name -- This was for a 300ZX and that is Stillen's "bread and butter" car...
If you are getting the leather plus install labor at only $700 dollars, you better make sure of the quality of the leather -- it could be really thin crappy stuff that wears and tears just after a short time -- O.K. the labor probably accounts for about half the price and the leather itself maybe about half the price. That means their cost for the leather alone would have to be about $150 bucks... Now a good quality leather jacket sells more more than that.. -- How can they do a whole car interior at a good quality at that price?
Unless they are losing big money on that package, I wouldn't trust it..

hey chris. totally agree with you. actually they said that they were going to lose money on the first install just so they can get some pics of it in a car. they said that retail will be around $1200.00. i'm just wondering how much leather would really be worth it if i'm planning to sell the car in about a year.
