cracked wheel

my front left wheel has a small crack on the far inside corner past the rotor, right on the inside edge under the car. im told that eventually the crack will get bigger and i will get a flat. how can i fix this? can i just take the wheel off and weld the crack shut or is it a little more complicated than that? thanks.

I don't think it's a good idea to weld rims (even if you can). You are going to throw off the balance of it and make them weaker by heating them. I think it would just make it worse. I guess it's time for some new rims or you prolly can buy some used ones from somebody.

there are wheel repair shops but if mine was cracked, i'd buy a new one and not risk it getting worse or returning if i got it fixed.

Is the wheel stock or aftermarket? Either way it will probably be cheaper to just buy a new one. I was told by a shop that I had a bent rim, which I am skeptical of as I don't have any vibrations, so I looked into wheel repair shops. Most places charge well over $100 to fix a bent rim but I have no idea what it costs to fix a cracked one. I would go on the safe side and buy a new one.

you can try bringing it to wheels america..website is fixrim.com. I had a crack on the inside of my rim on passenger side that they couldn't fix, but they shipped it back to me free of charge. If you're local to one of their locations, I believe they let you dropoff/pickup. It's worth a try if you don't have the money to spend on getting a new one. $109 flat rate no matter how bad the damage.

im on 18" ADR GTs right now. i went to the fixrim.com site and they have a location 30 minutes from me so i will check them out. getting it fixed for $100 will be much cheaper then having to buy a new one.

Hahah....an explorer pulled out in front of my in the rain when i was going downhill. I slamed on breakes and slid into a curb at about 40. I broke my passenger steering knuckle and ruined a bearing. But i got my mille miglia actions now.

I have heard i cannot get my rims fixed in america. I can get them fixed but i cannot get them painted the same color. Automobile mag alos had this problem with their is300 with mille miglia actions. haha i guess iwould be *** raped.
