Performance Radiators

My radiator busted, and is now spraying coolant all over my engine....i need a new radiator, and i'm thinking between a performance one or the OEM. I've looked at different brands of performance ones and i'm not finding an application for the max. so could you guys tell me what kinda radiator you've got, or tell me a company that sells radiators for maximas. THANKS!!

Stick with OEM or equivelent.

There's no need for a bigger radiator unless your seriously boosted.

Like Tom said, stick with an OEM or equivalent. I purchased a Advanced Auto Parts radiator and it works just as well as the $500 part from the dealer for 1/4 the price

Look up Koyo's radiators on goggle and find their website I am too lazy. They can probally get you an aluminum replacement that fits in the stock posistion with plastic end tanks for less than $250 dollars probally more like $200.

very old thread, but instead of making a new one im bringing this one alive to save sanity.

im looking for a new radiator, and i dont want a 100% oem brand... i dont need anything bigger, but would like to know what to get in a radiator.

here are some options on ebay that i seen...

number 1
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Radia...ayphotohosting
this is a CSF radiator -
OEM style Plastic tanks & Aluminum core

number 2
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-95...ayphotohosting
This is the one im looking at getting... its not aluminum and plastic, so i think it might cool better, this is what i need the help for.
-rugged all metal copper/brass radiator.

number 3
mentioned before in an above post...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KOYO-...ayphotohosting
its aluminum and plastic too... also says HIGH FLOW

i need to know which one to get and why i would get that one?... ie why plastic and aluminum might be better than metal copper/brass.

and also if anyone suggests a differnt kind of radiator... im looking for something at least alittle above oem quality.

With an all metal rad, you don't have to worry about the plastic endtanks getting old and brittle. Metal also is a better conductor of heat than plastic, not that it matters much with a max, but it can't hurt.

here is a radiator from autozone
http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBr...%7ENONE%7C%7EW

its from transpro, it looks like it will bolt in tho i havent checked dementions.
it has TWO ROWS, which is better cooling, and its all steel...

has anyone had any luck with this one? i really think this is the one im going to buy if there is no other option.

If you want something that will hold allot get this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissa...QQcmdZViewItem

This is what I'm getting for my car since my radiator just gave out on me. It's all aluminum, and they can get it polished for you if that is what you want. I e-mailed the guy and he said that the Griffin radiator is good till 600hp, which is great for me

well i heard as w/ any engineered device, the engineers will typically select a radiator that provides a slightely higher performance level than the minimun requires, as a factor of safety. lets ssay that if u have a new car that is only makin 5-10% more power than stock & u never push ur car that much, u really don't need to invest in a performance radiator. but, if ur car is more than lets say 4yrs old or if its producin over around 20% more power than stock or if u do any type of track racing, u really really need to consider a performance radiator upgrade.

so, unless ur seriously boosted as some said, u don't need a perf. radiator. but if u are and u don't, it can lead to overheating and overheating can lead to for example, warped cylinder heads, blocks and head-gasket failures.

All metal, 2 row, $128 with free shipping and lifetime warranty. I bought a radiator for my '98 Jeep Grand Cherokee from here last year and was very happy with it.

well im not boosted... i plan to add nitrus in the next 2 years or so tho.

i feel cofortable with the ones at radiatorbarn.com and the one at autozone.. both are two rows and are metal construction... tho radiatorbarn is cheaper so im thinking of siding with that one.

thanks for the info on the B&E radiator, its well over the price im looking for... i probably have 190 - 1955HP to the wheels (with the mods i have)... and i dont think that radiator would be used to its fullest and costs to much for what i have.

****anyone object to TWO row radiators for the maxima???*** and or the two choices im thinking of?
