well, catbacks are cool, but generally all they do is change the noise level of the car. the power they make is pretty minimal. I rear sway bar, and/or a front strut bar would be nice. what do you want next? more power? better exterior? better interior? better handling?

if you just want power, think about a MEVI and ECU combo. a lot of power on tap, consider NOS. if you want the car to be more powerful all the time, consider a SC. If you want to start smaller, get a cat back (wont give much power) or an UDP. if you have a 95-96, you can get a new ECU with no CEL or stuff like that. what are you looking for within more power? a lot more? power just when you need it, like for racing? you got an auto or 5 speed?

ok lets start with the begining. Valve body modification, made for the automatic transmission. it will help an auto handle more power, reduce slipping, and speed up your shifts. it has made a .4-.6 different in the quarter mile for some cars, and that is HUGE. Also, turbos for our cars are very tricky. there are no real premade turbo kits, and definately none under 2 grand.

superchargers brand new are about 3,500 new. still a good deal of money. My friend just bought one used for 2900 (including he sc, fmu, fuel pump, smaller pulley, 3 pulley chains, and a S-AFC, shipped to his door) . If you understand how turbos and superchargers work, you will know the difference, and the obvious set backs of having a supercharger. but then again, there is NO turbo kits out there, and the SC is easy and available. remember, you still need to factor in the instalation costs, and the new matinence. all that added stress on the engine is no light task.

lol...now you are just quoting me. Im guessing you got no idea what that mean. An ecu, is engine control unit. by upgrading this you can get more power and torque, and a raised rev limiter (thing that keeps the engine from spinning too high) a CEL is a check engine light. since there is no new ECUs for the 1997+ maximas, if they use an 95-96 ECU, they get a CEL, get it? Since you are a 96, you can buy a new one easy. They are worth buying and can give you some nice more power. Another thing to consider is a mevi (middle easter variable intake). its kind of (really vaguely, kind of) like a VTEC from honda. It lets the engine have more power up at the top end, and you can make nearly 30 extra horsepower at the top end. that can surely help you smoke a mustang. But, a MEVI can hurt your mid range power, so its recomended you get a new ECU and a MEVI at the same time. also, mevi is cheaper than a supercharger. Since you arent adding compression or boost like NOS, a supercharger or turbo, a mevi is much much better for the engine. try some research on a mevi

i dont think you could beat one just with mevi and ecu. depends what GT, the new ones, the 97+ ones or the old ones? Nos would insure victory (if he doesnt have nos or SC ) and a sc or tc would of course help...yes

nope, ecu would definately not give you enough power to kill a mustang or camaro... you're just starting out with less power, thats life
