Alignment

I got hit on my left side of my car by a lady going like 25 mph as i was making a left turn. now i have to hold the steering wheel at an angle instead of holding it in normal postion. the insurance guy who did the quote says it just is my alignment, but a friend said the whole frame is bent, is it possible to bend the whole frame at 25mph, or is it just my alignment.

It would be best for you to take it to a licensed mechanic to actually check it out for you, espically if you are not the at-fault driver. It is possible to do a number of amazing things to your car at any speed. There may be far more wrong with it from a 25mph collision that you imagine.

yup, you could have bent alot of things. if your wheel is cricked also, you bent your subrame which holds the rack and pinion.

you first have to do a alignment to a car, so you know whats going on. From there a auto technician can tell if you nee anything else such as a axle, control arm, tie rod

You'd probably have to have a body shop tell you that.

My guess is that it's more than the alignment. I don't know how sure you are about the speed, 25 is pretty hard hit. A guy hit me in an old truck I had going ~25-30, and it bent the hell out of the frame of my truck.

first, is your wheeel sitting cricked? if you do a alligment and it does not fix anything, u wasted money. so i suggest a mechanic or body shop unless u can figure it out for yourself. just look around ur car.

Yeah, paying for an alignment would be inadvisable. You'd only have to pay for another one once they determine that it isn't the alignment only that is screwed up, and they take apart your suspension.

Don't you get an independent estimate of the damage? I don't know about other states, but here in KY we get our own independent estimates by bodyshops. I don't like the idea of the insurance company telling me what is damaged on my car (especially since they're the ones writing the check for the repairs).
