Is your front passenger window well sealed and solid on it's track? I could think that the whisling could come from a window that wasn't totally sealed and a cracking noise could maybe be the glass jiggling around in the window track inside the door if it's not well seated...

nope, cuz when i rev on neutral, it still whistle. so the wind can't possibly sneaks through the window anyway.

is it sort of a metallic whistle? I get this kind of low clanky hiss, and I believe its from my y-pipe. Car came with it, exhaust wrap all around the flex section. I think I need to replace it, maybe you need to replace yours too?

Check the upper trim and seal around the windshield. Even if it is raised slightly it will whistle and if it is loose it will flap. Put a peice of tape over the entire upper trim so it also covers the window and drive it on the highway. If you hear no noise then you found the problem. Mine made noise above 55mph , I pushed the trim down until it snapped back in and the problem was gone. Good luck.

just tighten the bolts/screws
check your fenderwell plastic cover mine was loose and it made a cracking sound at 70+
I spent 10 minutes with a screwdriver and some sockets underneath the car and in the fenderwells, tightened all the screws and the rattling sound was gone.

happyricefob: my first car(86 maxima wagon, oh yes a wagon)did this, it is not air from any leaks or distortion from the speakers or rattling plastic. It is an actual whistling/hissing noise coming from the speaker as if it where part of the music. I can relate, but can't help because soon after, I traded the '86 in on my first SE-R

Is it coming directly from your front speaker? if it is, then you have a problem with your grounding somewhere within your sound system, or else you have some connections loose somewhere. It could be your alternator too. Sound from the alternator could be leaking into the sound system, and causing the sound.

Does the pitch of the whine get higher when you rev the engine? If it does, than look to the solutions I have stated above. You'll know that it's either the alternator, or it's the wiring within the speaker system itself if you hear this whine.
