Technosquare or JWT ???

Money isnt a consern I just want the Best Product..

Technosquare is $380 for an X-mas Deal (NO raised Rev- Limiter)
JWT is around $550 (WITH raised Rev limiter)

I have MEVI which raised rev limiter would be good and I dont really plan on Boosting or gettin nitrous...

what do you think ??

Is it even a question? Get the JWT otherwise the MEVI is pointless.

You shouldn't even be asking this question. JWT.

I think you should hold out a little bit longer for the Technosquare ECU with raised limiter. IIRC, Deezo sent one to them and they are working on cracking it.

That makes absolutely no sense...Care to rephrase?? There ARE other things an aftermarket ECU does other than raise the rev-limiter...

Yea Sorry I was tired... If you really are expecting huge gains from an ecu, the only way you will see it is with a mevi, where you can get the top end that the mevi wants to give, thanks to the new rev limiter. An ecu alone just changes your fuel mapping to something more aggressive, giving you what, 10 hp by it self? Not exactly a cost effective addition without a MEVI...
Better mang?

Well it also does offer a more aggressive ignition timing map, and more importantly, it offers gain throughout the powerband. Most of the guys with JWT/MEVI said if they could do it over again, they would get the ECU first.

i read that recently... and thats why i was asking. i'm not really looking for the gains of a MEVI... and i don't want to mess with nitrous... i just want a simple bolt on to add some power accross the powerband. will the technosquare be as benificial as the JWT w/o a MEVI?

no it won't according to all the dynos and butt dynos out there, while they are very close, JWT squeezes more power out of your engines by simply revving higher, a trick honda has been using for years, the easy way to get more power if you ask me....according to all the stories, w/o the mevi, the technosquare gives slightly higher and smoother gains and is cheaper rpm for rpm without raising the rev limiter, personally if you don't have the mevi, save some money and get a better ecu as well--technosquare, use the left over money and buy another power gaining item instead! plus with technosquare i here you will get your ecu very fast instead of a month like JWT! any way, good luck!

I plan on getting the JWT ECU soon and then I will get the MEVI. I can't wait to hear my VQ wind out to 7k rpms.

Or even 7200 I know the stories about some people experiencing valve float at 7200 but I figure might as well go with the max I can get and save those extra 200rpm for hon-duh spankins

WTF?? The easiest way to get more power is by revving higher?? The Technosquare gives smoother gains?? It's cheaper RPM for RPM??

Man your whole post doesn't make sense. Maybe I read it wrong. Not trying to flame but what are you trying to say??

what is your input on my question... w/o a MEVI, is the technosquare as good as the JWT?

I'll say this...With the possibilty of the Technosqare ECU with the raised rev-limiter pending, there would really be no justifiable reason to get the JWT ECU, MEVI or not, unless you aren't willing to wait for the TS w/raised limiter. But since you're not planning on a MEVI, the answer is simple IMO. Are you willing to spend over $150 more and have a longer turnaround time?... Caesar's Chariot ran a 14.3 with intake, full exhaust, pulley and Technosquare ECU...

I think JWT is alot better of a name for $150 i think its worth getting the JWT...maybe down the road a few months youll run into a MEVI for cheap then you wont have go switing to a JWT and losing alot of money

3 years ago "Jeff K" ran a 14.3@96mph with a high 2.2 60' with his 96 SE, no gutting of the interior (Caesar yanked all his seats), CAI, y-pipe, JWT ECU, and UDP. Just something to consider because Jeff did this with a JWT ECU 3 years ago and with more weight and a far worse 60'.

If you have ANY plans to get an MEVI you would be absolutely stupid to get the Technosquare ECU. Also the 7000rpm limiter actually helps out the stock manifold setup in that ~6700-6800rpms on the 1-2 shift is actually ideal. All ideal shift points thereafter are below 6500rpms, but it does help that 1-2.

Wouldn't getting the TCU upgrade improve the shift points? Reason I ask is that I'm considering doing that to but there's not a lot of info on what the TCU upgrade gains you out there.

Anyone care to elaborate?
