Major problem...

Sorry if this is a repeated question, but for some reason the site won't let me search the forums. Anyway, here goes.

A couple weeks ago, the dreaded engine light came on. Big deal, isn't it always on?! Anyway, I checked the codes, and it flashed 0304 Knock Sensor, and 0707 Rear Heated Oxygen Sensor. I didn't think much of it, as I heard the rear sensors aren't that important.

Just this week, I noticed the car was running a bit rougher. I have some summer wheels, and I replaced them with the wider stock rims. I figured the tires were causing the rough ride. Last night though, the roughness was noticebly worse, like really really bad. Usually the light is solid, but last night, the light started flashing. When I got home, I checked the codes again and got the same codes with an additional 0607 Cylinder 2 Misfire. FRIG!

So, there's the problem. I bought the rear sensor, but haven't put it in yet. Is this the problem? Would it be something else? Ignition coils? Please help me out guys. Thanx...

I could see ignoring the rear O2 sensor... but not the knock sensor.

"Probably" is the #2 ignition coil, which is "probably" causing the knock sensor code.

Put the new sensor in and reset the ECU. See if it comes back on. Usually, when you throw an O2 sensor code, the KS will be automatically thrown as a dummy code. Just pop that sucker in first and see if it solves the problem.

that's weird, because I had the same two codes and after I replaced my KS both went away. I knew I needed a new KS, but the car was behaving very strange: (not symptomatic of bad KS)stalling, low and erratic idle, rough acceleration, etc.but after I pulled the codes and read rear heated o2 sensor I ignored it on faith and just replaced the KS and everything was fine after that. No more problematic codes

Ya, thanx guys...I'm gonna try and put it in tomorrow, and see what happens. You say the KS code is thrown in as a dummy code, but what about the Cylinder 2 Misfire? Any idea why that would happen? Would the shot sensor mess up the fuel to air ratio so bad that it would cause the misfire?
